UrbanGrow grows hydroponically. We use a growing medium to germinate, and then the roots are exposed to water, which is where the plant receives a precise nutrient mix to flourish.
Thanks to sophisticated analytics, we’re able to harvest each crop at the exact right time, ensuring flavor is at its prime. Once it’s picked, UrbanGrow produce reaches stores and restaurants on the same day, unlike traditional produce which can take weeks.
Our nutrients are water soluble versions of the same ones you would find naturally occurring in the most fertile of soil environments, and this nutrient-rich water is taken up directly by the roots of our plants. By monitoring the growing process 24/7 and capturing data at each step, we give our crops exactly what they need and nothing more.
Yes! We source our non-GMO seeds from trusted partners. We also control every aspect of the growing process, providing our plants with the ideal conditions they need to grow, rather than relying on GMOs.
While our company supports organic growers who practice farming methods that work with an entire ecosystem, UrbanGrow is not pursuing organic certification at this time. But we are MyGAP certified.
MyGAP stands for Malaysia Good Agriculture Practice. Good Agricultural Practices is a key element in quality assurance chain and that it, along with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and the Critical Points (HACCP), contributes to ensuring food safety. GAP guidelines are designed to encourage growers of crops such as fruits and vegetables to learn more about what it takes to have a food safety management plan to protect your business.
